The first Australian National Hydropolis Conference was held
in Perth, 2006, to bring together water technicians, ecologists,
urban designers and planners to exchange views  on the role of
water in urban planning.
Water protection is a fundamental concern throughout the world.
For some countries, the problem is a shortage of drinking water
and for others it is pollution in surface water systems.
The vital question is:
"How can water be planned for and integrated in design and decision-making so as to minimize human impact and
restore ecological systems?"
The Hydropolis Conference is organised by the Stormwater Industry Association (SIA). For further details
on SIA, visit their website www.stormwater.asn.au.
The Papers presented at the Conference are published on this site. |
